Tickers will scroll and dynamically refresh as any stock in the ticker is affected by market conditions. Note that the top stock on Chart 2-2 identifies the stock that is in play, the market-maker, price changes, and actual trades. The actual display is color-coded with green for a price increase and red for a price decrease. |

DAET provides a way of operating in a very fertile environment where ideas become trades and trades become profits, and where losses can be quickly cut and profits can be allowed to run in the formative and idealized marketplace. The ability to access markets assures the trader that there is no need to delay the cutting of a lossyou can usually buy a stock back seconds later if you choose. Commissions are very low, and so the cost of active trading is not burdensome. The continued velocity and movement helps create a mind-set that prevents significant loss while providing potentially tremendous trading profitability. DAET traders make their money by grinding out profits and cutting losses quickly. If you want a big win, buy a lottery ticket. |

The Regulatory Future Is Bright |

The future of DAET is more radiant today than at anytime since I began my crusade in 1988. The reason is that since 1995 the Securities and Exchange Commission, under the enlightened and visionary leadership of Arthur Levitt, has become savvy to the inner workings of the markets. The successful introduction of new Order Handling Rules in January 1997 indicates that electronic execution in a transparent price environment is the order of the day. The names of the systems may change, but it is apparent that DAET is here to stay and will be the basis of the new market. |

Direct Access Electronic Traders are not willing to pay tribute to the market makers for the simple act of honoring their markets, which the market makers are legally obligated to do anyway. DAET traders believe in the classic American position of millions for defense and not one cent for tribute. |
